The Aje Report

Salute To The Suit

Over the past 12 months, suiting has taken on a distinct nonchalance, as dressing has toned down post pandemic to a notably more casual everyday uniform. Mindful of this new relaxed approach to tailoring and workwear, for Spring 21 Reimagination Aje created deconstructed suiting that reinterprets signature elements of the design house's DNA. Find cut out details, raw hemming, contrast colour ways and custom hand-casted buttons reframed in a new and wearable way for now.

The Aje Report spoke with Creative Director Edwina Forest to understand the new style codes for suiting now.

Spring 21 Muse, Aleisha Scanlon, in the Fortuity Blazer and Fortuity Pant

Aje’s signature detailing features on the relaxed fit Universal Cut Out Blazer, designed to pair with the Universal Knot Hem Pant for an instant unstructured minimalist wardrobe update.

The flattering and purposefully placed cut out on the back of the Universal Cut Out Blazer is reminiscent of those ordinarily seen on midi and mini dresses in previous Aje collections. The cut out is finished with a knot detail that is mirrored at the hem of Universal Knot Hem Pant, creating a perfect pairing. Worn together or apart, the two pieces can be styled with myriad outfits. Wear with an Aje top, tee or jumper and style with a Stone Sandal to dress up your outfit up or Hazel Trainer for a street style edge. It’s the perfect day to night ensemble.

“I love introducing cut out details into more traditionally masculine silhouettes. The sight of skin creates a sensuality and an unexpected softness.” - Edwina Forest, Aje Creative Director

Lean into effortless maximalism in the Fortuity Blazer and matching Fortuity Pant, with a monochrome palette that can be worn from day to night. Wrap the Bolo Tie Belt around the waist of this blazer to style as Edwina does. For day, complete the luxe suiting with the Conceptual Pleat Bucket Bag or for an evening look reach for the Cocoon Chain Wallet to step out in style.

“I live in relaxed suiting and am most comfortable in a monochrome palette. This suits with its sharp lines, contrast detailing and sense of nonchalance is just perfect.” - Edwina Forest

It’s time to suit up.
