They open their minds to the abundance of unique environments, historical artifacts and works of art that live just outside their doorstep, allowing their creative desires to run free. Whether it’s music, sculpture, paintings or fashion, there is truth to the notion that the best type of art imitates life. This season, the AJE ATHLETICA designers found themselves deeply connected to Mother Earth, gravitating towards earthy tones and plant-based fabrications. Through recognition of this symbiotic relationship, the ‘Destination’ collection was born.

One key source of inspiration for the collection was crystals, in particular: rose quartz. Believed to promote healing powers, positive energy and tranquility, the stone has long been used in various cultural and spiritual practices around the world. It is said that the ancient Egyptian and Roman women were among the first to recognise its energetic qualities, as far back as 7000 BC. Known as the crystal of unconditional love, rose quartz is thought to emit calming and peaceful vibrations that open the heart chakra, releasing impurities in order to strengthen and balance the physical body. Wearing it, keeping it around the household or using it in meditation are all thought to be ways of reaping the stone’s positive properties. It is these very benefits that directly align with AJE ATHLETICA’s wellness-focused innovations and mission to support your self-care journey, making rose quartz a central motif within the ‘Destination’ collection.

The main colourway in AJE ATHLETICA’s latest drop, Rose Quartz is a calm and crisp take on the shade of pink within the stone. Crystal healer and reiki master, Keith Birch, says of it: “Its soft, gentle, almost pastel pale pink colouring is a good indication of its most commonly known property: that of pure love”. This hue was used as an anchor within the ‘Destination’ collection, connoting self-love, physical strength and emotional wellbeing.
