Feminist by nature, unbound by convention, understated and androgynous in style, American Artist, Georgia O'Keeffe, is the Aje muse this season. Discover our latest campaign fronted by the beautiful Jess PW.
Equally as intrigued by O'Keeffe's artworks as they were her personal style and ideology; for their SS18 collection, the design duo, Edwina Forest and Adrian Norris, have embraced, fluid, voluminous, yet understated shapes.
Set against tough pony leathers, constructed corset-like waistbands, high collars and exaggerated in a nod to O'Keeffe's strong feminist flare and the early 1900's time period.
In paying homage to her artistic intensions – abstraction of the natural world to expose emotion and power of objects – the collection recalls an interpretation of her abstracted flower artworks through intricate macrame-like detailing, and plays upon a natural colour palette of her studio and surroundings in New Mexico.
Like O'Keeffe's, the duo are always very considered in their design approach, creating pieces that will be loved and appreciated for years to come – well constructed in form and fabrications, unique in design motif.
