The Aje Report

New Season Edit By Edwina Forest

‘Scent of Summer’, Aje’s Resort 22 collection is a rhapsody to long summers and the bygone beauty of the 1960’s; as imagined by Co-founders Edwina Forest and Adrian Norris. Embracing a sense of nostalgia, the carefree and hedonistic days of the 60s are a grounding essence of the collection.

Edwina Forest, Aje Creative Director, shares with the Aje Report the Resort 22 styles she’s gravitating towards this season, all with a confident sense of nonchalance.

Find a palette duality with soft tones of white in contrast with more statement shades of Olive Green designed in signature Aje silhouettes with cut out details. In her appreciation for beauty and detail in unexpected forms, Edwina speaks to the unique in-house developed braiding technique on sculptural clutch bags, whilst luxurious tactile fabrications are designed in polished timeless silhouettes.

“I love a modern take on linen suiting. This piece balances both sophistication and an undone nonchalance with its structured silhouette in symbiosis with purposefully frayed edges. The cutout detail gives a sensuality, in duality with its more androgynous structure.” - Edwina Forest, Aje Creative Director

The New Weave Ring Clutch Bag, arriving in October, 2021.

“I love how the New Weave Ring Clutch feels both comfortingly nostalgic yet architecturally modern. The hand cast hardware in contrast with its artisanal, soft woven texture is a style I can see both paired back with a classic denim look or a romantic dress for an evening out.” - Edwina

The Jacinto Pleated Midi Dress, arriving in October, 2021.

“There are few wardrobe staples more versatile than the little black dress. I love the unapologetically dramatic pleated silhouette in layers of tulle that gives this style a feminine, playful volume.” - Edwina

The Mirage Organza Cut Out Mini Dress, arriving in November, 2021.

“This mini dress is the epitome of raw femininity. I love the evocative nods to the 1960’s through the playful structure and hand-beaded daisy embroidery. The undone edging of the cutout waist and neckline gives it an effortless, Aje refinement.” - Edwina
