A journey guided by light. Across coast and outback, through canopy and city, the Australian landscape shifts with the sun – horizons glow, water catches the sky, native flora emerges in fleeting colour. This is Resort 27 ‘Siren’, unveiled on the Australian Fashion Week runway.
For Adrian Norris and Edwina Forest, the journey follows light from first glow to golden hour. Sun-drenched horizons dissolve into water-reflected shimmer; bottlebrush, wattle and native florals surface in hand-painted gestures, hazy washes and hyper-exposed impressions. Rust, sand, aquatic blues and diffused feminine tones echo the landscape as it changes throughout the day.
Silhouettes move with the same fluidity - draped bustiers, exaggerated cowls, halter necklines and sheer volumes in organza and fine mesh. Sensory cottons, gauze, raffia and woven knits meet high-shine embellishment, catching and reflecting light across the body.
Tough femininity cuts through the softness. Crackled vegan leather, crinkled nylon, contrast stitching and Western-inspired hardware ground fluid layers, while sequins, fringe and three-dimensional florals shimmer across sheer surfaces.
